A formal complaint has been filed regarding a serious incident in Limassol, Cyprus, involving a hotel operator and the alleged improper involvement of an officer from the Germasogeia Police Station. The complainant reports that on Friday, 3 October 2025, at 12:52, he received a phone call from the number +357 99288788, belonging to the hotel operator in question. However, the call was made not by the hotelier himself, but by a police officer, allegedly acting on his behalf.
According to the complaint, this action constitutes misuse of official capacity, raising concerns about improper intervention by a state authority in a private commercial dispute and creating an atmosphere of pressure and intimidation toward the complainant, by his victim.
Summary of the Disputed Transaction
The case concerns a seven‑night reservation at Tsanos Hotel, for which the complainant paid €882 through an online booking provider. Despite timely notification and a request for cancellation, the hotel operator allegedly collected the full amount the day after the scheduled arrival, without providing any accommodation or issuing a
refund.
The complainant states that:
- A voucher of equal value was proposed and rejected.
- A partial refund for five out of seven nights was promised but never delivered.
- These actions amount, in his view, to misrepresentation, breach of commercial trust, and financial loss.
Impact on a Larger Hospitality Project
The complainant further notes that his company had an active cooperation agreement with the hotel, involving the daily allocation of 40 double rooms between November 2025 and March 2026, valued at €96,000, as part of a hospitality program for 4,000 European visitors.
The alleged conduct of the hotel operator has placed the entire project at risk of cancellation.
